Wholesale for Craft Businesses
Selling products on a wholesale basis isn't going to be a viable option for all craft businesses, but for certain types of business or products, it may be at least worth considering.
The advantage of wholesale is that it can facilitate the sale of larger volumes of stock for less marketing effort than selling individual products on a retail basis.
There is of course a downside in that wholesale prices allow for lower margins than retail and so sales volumes have to be greater to achieve the same returns.
The decision on whether wholesale is right for a handmade craft business will vary from business to business, but the information in this section should assist in making an informed decision.
