Pricing Strategy for Handmade Craft Business Products

Getting your pricing strategy right is one of the keys to running a successful craft business - yet this is also one of the most difficult things to achieve. Happily, there is a lot of help and advice available.

Many craft makers will at some time encounter the difficulty of developing a pricing strategy for their products, even if they don't regularly sell their goods.

Obviously there is the desire to earn a reasonable wage from the time spent on the products, taking into account the cost of materials also, however there is also the fear that if the pricing strategy is set too high, potential customers will be discouraged from buying.

There are no straightforward answers as to what a craft business owner should charge, as each business is different, but fortunately there is some good general advice that can at least ensure that a pricing strategy  is developed using a rational formula that takes into account all the different aspects that go into the production of handmade goods.
